Responsibilities:

Reporting to the UI/UX Lead, the UI Artist will collaborate closely with the UX and Design Team, Art Director, Engineers, QA, and Production to implement and optimize user-friendly interfaces, including graphics, icons, and buttons to help players understand complex games or game features. Additionally, the UI Artist may create and optimize animations, design typography to match the theme of the game, and add to the usability of the game overall.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a dynamic team-oriented environment and possess a passionate self-driven attitude.

Essential Functions:

Generate and optimize assets for menus, HUD, buttons, widgets, icons, buttons, backgrounds, data displays, top-down maps, and other game features that help players understand complex games
Collaborate with the UI/UX Lead, User Experience Designer, Art Leads, Game Designers, and Engineers to iterate on features until they reach shippable quality
Translate flowcharts and wireframes into fun, usable, and visually polished UI systems
Create assets that maintain and develop the visual identity of current and upcoming titles
Help problem-solve technical hurdles of tools and improve our pipelines

Preferred Qualifications:

5 or more years of experience in the games industry as a Technical Artist or UI Artist managing game projects from concept to implementation
Ability to rapidly prototype and iterate through solutions
Experience with Unreal Engine and UMG UI Designer software
Experience with Photoshop and Illustrator and knowledge of 3D programs such as Maya, or 3DS Max
Good understanding of graphics optimization practices
Excellent communication and organization skills
Motion graphics, 3D, or VFX experience is a plus
